Pedro Francisco Sánchez Albarracín presents his book "History of folk verse in Eagles" (24/04/2015)

Yesterday took place in the House of Culture Francisco Rabal Eagles, the commemoration of World Book Day, under the slogan "A sea of ​​words", where the ballads were prominently.

The departments of Education, Women and Culture were responsible for organizing the program of events, which began with the uncovering of a picture in memory of the aquiline writers who died between 1869 and 2000, to which was followed by continuous reading universal work "Don Quixote" by Miguel de Cervantes.

In the afternoon, the school contest prizes were awarded journalistic reportage, whose winners were: Antonio Soto, Carlos V College and Antonio Belzunce, the Mediterranean, while the student Bryan Franc, the center Carlos V, received a citation Special jury.

The mayor of Eagle, Bartolome Hernandez, was present in most of the acts and was asked to submit with the author the book "History of folk verse in Eagles" by Pedro Francisco Sánchez Albarracín.

The local chief executive explained that "the aquiline writer has a degree in History and has spent nearly two decades researching the customs and traditions of the town, making it clear at all times their unconditional love for this land of his birth."

Hernandez explained that, after a hard work documenting four years, finally comes to light this publication on the history of folk verse in Aguilas, the first book of Sánchez Albarracín, which includes a significant aspect of popular culture aquiline remained unpublished .

The importance of this work lies in retrieving an item by its oral nature, was at high risk of disappearing, giving added value audios incorporating old troveras evenings.

Similarly, the mayor said the folk verse is part of our cultural heritage, the variety of trades people who practiced it (mining, esparteros, fishermen, herders, farmers), which has allowed it to retain the town until today.

Finally, Bartolome Hernandez closed his speech by congratulating the author for making a historical approach to the subject, providing new data on the world of folk verse that has been supplemented with biographies of the aquiline troveros, giving as resulting end an interesting and entertaining book for reader.
