Eagles Mayor Bartolome Hernandez, accompanied by territorial manager Acuamed Segura Basin, Roberto Lopez and Alderman of Goods and Works, Diego Martinez, and project manager of the state society, Fernando Villalba, presented the proposed construction of a footbridge over the Rambla del Cañarete.
This is an action to be executed by the state-owned waters of the Mediterranean Basin (Acuamed) under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, who has cleared the last meeting of its Board of Directors, the award of this action requested by the City of Eagle.
This work is one of the two included in the Draft Land Restitution associated with the construction, also by Acuamed, desalination plant Eagles / Guadalentin, in service since February 2013, representing an investment of 238 million euros .
As explained by the local chief executive, work will begin soon and will have a total duration of three months.
So, next year, people will have this demanded infrastructure that will serve to continue the busy promenade 'La Colonia', up to the Hotel Puerto Juan Montiel, a stretch widely used by many people who come to walk West Bay, in addition to tourists staying at this hotel establishment known Eagles, Hernandez stated.
The project foresees the implementation of a walkway 35 meters long and 3.5 meters wide, made of stainless steel duplex.
This is an innovative material for such structures, which is optimum in durability and design.
Furthermore, the absence of intermediate supports keeps unchanged the drainage characteristics of the gully.
The minimum depth achieved by the typology, the use of excellent material and lightening holes in beams, make the structure integrates naturally in the coastal urban location.
It also will reshape the environment and surrounding promenade, allowing access to the gateway from the different routes, respecting accessibility criteria for people with disabilities.
A lighting system with efficient technology, LED-type, consistent with the design of the structure, which will illuminate the walkway itself and its approaches were also installed.
