Eagles offer a tourist route to the history and sites linked to rail (09/05/2012)

It will take place in a tourist train and free, the third Sunday of each month.

The City of Eagle today unveiled "The Route Railroad," a new attraction that binds to the various tourist attractions that the city offers to visitors, enabling them to find free history and places associated with the railroad, a sector traditionally linked to the economic development of the city.

On board a tourist train, the third Sunday of each month, aquiline and foreigners can participate in guided visits Menchón Angel, a member of the cultural association of friends of the railway "The Labradorcico" and expert on trains.

The route will begin at 10:00 pm in the Plaza de Isaac Peral, which houses the monument to the railway, a machine locomotive built in 1889 in Glasgow (Scotland).

Walking the promenade takes you to the Railway Bridge "La Rambla of Snakes", declared of cultural interest, to continue on foot along the Trail Stove, where are situated several tunnels and ore deposits, some of them recently rehabilitated.

In this place are several viewpoints, with privileged views of the bay, and "Pier Cooker", a majestic mineral carrier built in 1901 by the British Railway Company Southeast.

The tour will continue with a visit to the railway station, in which is located under the Railway Museum, which includes a photo exhibition and utensils used throughout history as well as several model trains in motion, ending with the last stop in the restored "House of the Garden of Don Jorge," a building from the early twentieth century eclectic style, which was the former residence of George Lee Bog, company director Lorca-Baza railway-Eagles between 1907 and 1936.
