In the course involved, among others, Alvaro Cuesta Martínez, President of the Justice Commission of the Congress of Deputies, Federico Trillo, Speaker of People's Justice Party Marcos García Montes, a lawyer for several of the most controversial cases in recent times .
"Panorama of justice in Spain" is the title of a course at the Universidad Internacional del Mar to be held in the town of Eagle during the week of 19 to 23 July.
The course aims to analyze from a critical standpoint, the main issues related to justice in Spain.
To this end intervene various personalities from academia, politics, the judiciary, prosecutors, lawyers, the clerk and the media, who will develop problems in issues such as juvenile law, right to a public process, operation Judge of the Court or the Penal Code, among others.
The inaugural conference will be borne by Fernando de Rosa Torner, Vice President of the Supreme Judicial Council, who will speak on judicial independence.
The course includes a discussion on the future of our criminal justice developed by Álvaro Cuesta, President of the Justice Commission of the Congress of Deputies and Federico Trillo-Figueroa, Speaker of People's Justice Party, chairing Alberto Aquirre of Cárcer, director of newspaper La Verdad de Murcia.
Another participant of the course is Marcos García Montes, a lawyer for several of the most controversial cases of recent times, Rafael Escobedo who defended the so-called crime of the Urquijo.
In parallel, the course will offer various practical sessions, from viewing DVDs in the first trial before jury trial held in Murcia.
The course is directed by Fernando Jiménez Conde, Director of the School of Legal Practice, and Julio Lopez Sigüenza, General Coordinator of the School of Legal Practice, both professors at the University of Murcia.
Those who enroll for this activity will be entitled to three free credits.
