The athletes of the Krate guilas Club, accompanied by their coach Juan Carlos Navarro, visited yesterday the aquiline City Council where they were received by the mayor, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Deportes, Cristbal Casado.
The young karatecas told the ediles their way through the Final Phase of the National Karate League, a championship organized by the Royal Spanish Federation of Karate, recently held in Villanueva de la Serena (Badajoz).
In this final phase, the top 8 ranked players of the National League participated in all categories in kata and kumite (combat).
It should be noted that with the points obtained in this championship is completed the classification of the absolute ranking of the Royal Spanish Federation of Karate (RFEK) of this year 2017.
The Krate guilas Club managed to include among the top 8 of the league ranking 5 of their karatecas who with this classification obtained the right to participate in this grand final.
The classified competitors were the following:
Alba Franco Ramrez (category female benjamn katas).
Isabel Torres Fernndez (category kumite +32 kg female alevn).
Jose Contreras Martinez (category kumite -30 kg male alevn).
Miao Zihao (category kumite +60 kg male youth).
Nerea Martnez Parra (category kumite + 59 kg junior female).
Finally, Alba Franco and Miao Zihao were fifth.
Isabel Torres won the fourth position winning her first bout against one of the best ranked players in the ranking.
Nerea Martinez managed to be runner-up in a great tournament while Jose Contreras became champion of this final phase of the National League.
Apart from the excellent results, both the mayor and the mayor of Sports and the club's own coach agreed that "the important thing of this sport, over and above the titles obtained, is to enjoy it and to promote values as important as the of teamwork and camaraderie. "
