Citizen participation continues to be one of the main premises of the Government Team of the City of Águilas, convinced - in the words of the mayor of the area, Luis López - "of the importance of making the local administration accessible to citizens and that they are also own local residents, first-hand knowledge of the needs of each neighborhood, who are responsible for providing initiatives to develop improvement projects for our municipality.

In this sense, the last great project for which the Aguileño Consistory has had the neighborhood contributions has been the projected action for the landscape regeneration of the Los Collados urbanization park;

an area of ​​15,000 square meters that currently, and as reported by the neighbors themselves, has no clear use and is devoid of vegetation as well as endowments that encourage the use of this space.

In this sense, and as Lopez has advanced, in recent months have been developed up to four neighborhood meetings in which have been present the councilors of the areas of Urbanism, Service Provider Companies and Public Safety in order to determine the way in which that the neighbors considered that they should act in the aforementioned space.

Finally, and as a result of this process of citizen participation, "it has been decided to launch a comprehensive recovery project that will be developed in six phases and will be presented next week."
