Águilas, faithful to tradition, paid tribute this weekend to the Virgin of Carmen, patroness of the fishermen, with a program of events that began Saturday with the Patronage Musical Aguileño.
With the patron saint of the sea at the gates of the temple that bears his name, the Patronato musicians, accompanied by the Patronato Choir and Juanjo Berenguer, offered a concert that was followed by more than five hundred people.
On Sunday, the meeting began with a Mass in the Lonja that was attended by, among other authorities, the mayor of Aguilas, Mari Carmen Moreno;
The Minister of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries, Francisco Jódar;
And the senior patron of the Fishermen's Guild, Domingo Diaz.
The activities in honor of the patron saint of the fishermen continued in the afternoon, with a Mass and the transfer of the image through the streets of the city, concluding with the traditional maritime procession in which different boats of the fishing fleet of the locality participated .
