Luis López, Councilor for Citizen Participation, Industry, Pedanias, Squares and Markets, was the last mayor to be held accountable to citizens when two years after the Socialist Party took office.

The council began its review of the electoral program referring to Citizen Participation;

For the Government Team of the PSOE, unlike previous corporations "the goal is to govern not only for citizenship, but for citizenship."

From this perspective has been worked to achieve "to remove Eagles from the darkness in which, in matters of transparency and citizen participation, was sunk."

Thus, the mayor said, "the necessary mechanisms have been put in place so that our locality in only two years has passed from being the fourth municipality, by the tail, at national level in transparency to the most transparent of the Region and the fifth of Spain".

Entering concrete actions, Lopez referred to the creation of the Regulation of Citizen Participation, the implementation of the first participatory budgets with the intervention of more than 500 neighbors or the creation of the Municipal Boards, understood as the reflection of the City Council in the Neighborhoods and neighborhoods in the City Hall, through which actions have been developed such as the cinema in your neighborhood, neighborhood verbenas or the application of incidents, through which it becomes more effective, if possible, participation local.

Lopez also referred to the council of Pedanías, highlighting, within the electoral commitments fulfilled, the elimination of comparative grievances between areas of the municipality, ensuring strict equality in maintenance;

The implantation of a mobile office in districts and places to facilitate the access to benefits and advice of several managements;

Or the implementation of the Safe Residence application.

Regarding the Department of Industry, the Socialist mayor recalled that one of the commitments of this Government Team was to work to unblock the General Plan of Urban Planning and thus have industrial land.

On this issue, Lopez said that the recent green light, with the abstention of PP, from the provisional approval of the PGOU will, among other things, quintuple the industrial land of the locality and provide legal stability to entrepreneurs and potential investors.

Another measure implemented, also within this area, has been the renewal of the business directory and the creation of an industrial services guide.

Finally, Lopez referred to the different actions taken in the area of ​​Places and Markets, among which he emphasized "the objective of revitalizing the Plaza de Abastos, making this a neuralgic tourist, commercial, leisure and restoration point."
