More than 50 exhibitors take part in the 5th Nautical Fair of Águilas to publicize the wide range of tourism in the Region (08/06/2017)

The Secretary General of the Presidency and Development, Yolanda Muoz, together with the mayor of Aguilas, Mara del Carmen Moreno, and the general director of the port, Juan Francisco Montiel, inaugurated today the 5th Nautical Fair of Eagles, which gathers during this weekend To 50 exhibitors in the marina Juan Montiel to offer thousands of visitors "the wide nautical offer of the Region".

Yolanda Muoz stressed that "guilas has become, throughout these days, the nautical head of our coast and a suitable forum to encourage all visitors to enjoy the wide range of tourism and nautical activities offered by the coast of Region of Murcia ".

The secretary general stressed that the celebration of activities in the marinas have a triple purpose: boosting nautical tourism, boosting marinas and breaking the seasonality of tourism.

During the nautical fair, 50 exhibitors will exhibit boats, nautical equipment, engines, watercraft, sails, nautical sports equipment, equipment and vehicles for holiday leisure, such as caravans, in order to allow visitors to enjoy the maximum Region.

One of the novelties of this edition is the promotion and commercialization of the 356 moorings that this port has, which also offers a wide portfolio of catering services, leisure, spa, nautical schools and sports (such as paddle and mini golf, among others).

Among the planned activities are activities for children, such as diving baptism and kayaking and sailing, as well as activities for adults, such as talks and presentations related to the nautical world.

During the four days of the fair is expected to exceed 4,000 visits.

Support to the nautical sector

The secretary general stressed that "the regional government promotes the holding of this type of events, as reflected in the reform of the Law of Ports," which offers incentives to encourage the holding of events such as this fair.

In this sense, the reform of the Ports Act contemplates incentives of up to 35 percent discount on the canon of the clubs for the celebration of sports and tourism activities such as this fair in order to encourage in the marinas the organization of Activities throughout the year and promote the deseasonalization of tourism.

The Marinas of the Region celebrate more than 300 nautical activities every year, in which more than 17,000 people participate.

Nautical tourism annually attracts 200,000 visitors to the Region.
