The Local Agrarian Council, a sectoral body of an advisory nature, as well as advice and information on municipal agricultural policy, has recently met again.
In the last meeting of this Council, chaired by the mayor of Aguilas and the mayor of Agriculture, Mari Carmen Moreno, and also attended by the mayor of Training and Local Development, Ginés Desiderio Navarro, addressed issues related to projects of Research, such as the revaluation of agricultural residues, which by the characteristics of the agriculture of Eagles could be implemented in the locality and turn it into a pilot municipality to develop this type of research.
"The idea - assured the first edil - is to seek funding from European Funds and that farmers together with the CSIC, in collaboration with the City Council, develop a scientific study whose conclusions can be applied to local agriculture.
Carlos García, delegate of the Higher Council of Scientific Research (CSIC), was in charge of exposing before the present the possibilities that for aquiline agriculture involves the development of research projects in the hands of the CSIC.
In this sense, he assured that the revaluation of the agricultural residues could develop in two fields;
On the one hand the creation of biomass and, on the other hand, the production of energy for the use of the own farm.
It should be recalled that the Council, which will meet on a regular basis at least once every six months and on an extraordinary basis whenever requested, is made up of representatives of all political parties represented in the City Council as well as all agrarian companies in the locality And the Communities of Irrigators.
