One more year, on Friday of Lázaro, just before the Friday of Dolores, the image of the Captive Christ crossed the streets surrounding the Parish of Carmen.
A Way of the Cross that was recovered years ago by one of the priests in charge of the Parish.
This 2017 together with the properly religious act of the accompaniment during the 14 stations of penance, Antonio Salvador, parish priest of the Carmen, wanted to have a detail with the costaleros who take the shoulders of the Captive and, with the support of his Board of Directors, gave each one of them , Children and elders, with a medallion with the Imagenque carry.
The carving, belonging to the Castilian / Leonese imagery dating from the 15th century and donated to the parish by a parishioner, is far from the physical characteristics of the Murcian imagery to which we are accustomed in our city and represents Christ after his arrest in Gethsemane before going with the Cross to Golgotha.
Also on this occasion was the Musical Group Virgen de los Dolores, which accompanies the titular image of the Blue Passage and Patron of Eagles, which marked the passage to costaleros and numerous people who during the two hours of the Via Crucis walked the streets of the old town of the city.
The mayor of Culture, Lucía Hernández together with the mayor of Citizen Participation, Luis López and other members of the Municipal Corporation and representatives of different brotherhoods and brotherhoods aguileñas accompanied the Cautivo when they were celebrated years of their first departure in 2006.
