The Claudio Coello Foundation awarded him the first prize for a work that strengthens coexistence through music. The Institute of Secondary Education "Europe" of Águilas, has just been distinguished by the Claudio Naranjo Foundation with the first international award for his project " Music and Convivencia ", made by the Department of Music of the center.
Projects have come from Argentina and Catalonia, the Balearics, Galicia, Madrid, Navarre and Murcia.
It is a work that seeks to promote coexistence and achieve human development through music as a vehicle.
The award-winning project, which has been carried out for ten years at the Aquila Institute, involves the entire center and includes students at all levels, as well as the AMPA.
"It emphasizes from this project that, thanks to music, each one feels part of a whole, it favors a climate in which the limits are unlocked, since the relationship between corporal, emotional, individual and collective work is very well configured , "Says the director of the center, Ismael Lucena.
The winning project is an activity that brings together almost 400 students and culminates with a concert for about two thousand people.
"Our IES is characterized by having students with a good academic level and good family guidelines, intermingled with other students of difficult performance and not so favored affective and economic level," adds Lucena.
Thus, the IES Europe is a center of social contrast, whose teachers have tried to ensure that the coexistence is carried out in the best possible way.
"That is why it was necessary an integrative activity that would unify all the students, teachers and families with a common goal, creating a sense of great team, to thrill with our work, to verify that well elaborated and well worked music produces, in us and In those who listen to it, emotions capable of transcending any differences and allowing close bonds between students, teachers and families. "
The Claudio Naranjo Foundation (founded by the Chilean writer and psychiatrist, Nobel Peace Prize nominee) is based in Barcelona, ​​promotes among Spanish educators an interest in an education not only holistic but also inspired by the purpose of transcending the patriarchal mind .
