The aegean group of PCEcritica the appointment of a street in honor to Alfonso Garci'a Zapata (15/12/2016)

The Local Association of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) in Aguilas has issued a statement on their social networks in which they criticize the recent appointment of a street in the town to the agricultural entrepreneur Alfonso Garcia Zapata.

The aquiline communists consider the awarding of this tribute "inopportune", because they denounce that Zapata "is not exactly an example of an entrepreneur and politician of whom we should be proud."

Owner and founder of the Urcisol Group, dedicated to the cultivation and commercialization of agricultural products, Alfonso García became one of the entrepreneurs with more weight of the municipality.

But this, says the PCE, "at the expense of its workers, sometimes maintaining moments of high hostility to the workers' representatives of the company."

His popularity and growing power made him launch his own candidacy to the Mayor, presenting an independent party founded around his figure and that of the other agricultural entrepreneur, Paco López.

The 1995-1999 legislature is one of the most controversial and unstable in recent years, with Alfonso García being mayor for only half a year.

In short, the Communist Party rejects the tribute to a person whom they consider represents "caciquismo in all its essence."

They consider more appropriate the appointment of a street "in honor to the writer aguileño Antonio Prieto or social groups punished for years by the oblivion like the victims of the dictatorship Franco".
