The City Hall receives 108 new niches in the Municipal Cemetery (24/11/2016)

The City Council of Eagles has received this week 108 new niches that have been built in the Municipal Cemetery and added to the 112 that were received last May.

An action that seeks, assured the mayor of Cemeteries, Isabel Fernandez, to alleviate the space deficit that the cemetery presented and "adapt the same to the needs of the municipality."

The work, carried out by Acero Lorca 12 Construcciones, has involved an investment of 21,978.57 euros.

"The award by the current Government Team of the works of the two modules carried out this year through a public tender has meant a very important saving, compared to the actions carried out previously for the municipal coffers. Of Cementeries - will allow us to build a third module of niches whose works will begin imminently ".

It should be noted that this improvement is not the only attack in recent months in the local cemetery.

Along with the increase of graves, since May 5, the so-called Rehabilitation Project of the Municipal Cemetery of the Dolores de Águilas has been developed, in addition to its own action in the cemetery, the labor insertion of unemployed people Through their professional qualification in alternation with the effective work and in which a total of twenty-eight people between 25 and 54 years who were unemployed are participating.

In particular, some of the actions that have already been carried out, and which have served to greatly improve the appearance of the aquiline cemetery, have consisted of the repair and cleaning of the decks, as well as the rehabilitation of some 600 niches that were In very bad condition;

An action has been developed in the way of access to the cemetery and also in the interior and exterior walls, completing with an integral rehabilitation of the exterior facade;

The drainage system has also been improved in order to repel moisture in the ossuary area and all the elements that were broken in both the autopsy room and the caretaker's office have been replaced.
