Fapen, APECO and the farmers' association Eagles informed the mayor of Eagles content of more than two thousand claims which will present the plan of the minor sea and the coast of Murcia (23/09/2016)

The Presidents of the Associations of Farmers Eagles, Jose Martinez, of the Association of Owners Cope and La Marina (APECO), Francisco Lopez and FAPEN, Jose Luis Hernandez, have held this morning a meeting with the Mayor of Eagles, Mari Carmen Moreno, in which they explained the general outline of the content of more than two thousand individual claims which will present between now and next Monday, on the Plan of Management of natural areas of the Mar Menor and Litoral de Murcia , which mainly affects almost all the coastal strip of Eagles.

Representatives referred three entities have explained to the Mayor of Eagles, requesting in its claims which segregates and differentiate the Management Plan Mar Menor Coast Eagles.

Because, as you have said, it seems a real nonsense apply the same treatment to a serious problem as the Mar Menor, which the Coast Eagles.

According to the President of FAPEN, "It is as if they wanted to apply the same medication to a terminal cancer patient who has flu."

In the more than two thousand claims to be submitted by the complainant organizations linked to the three aforementioned entities, also it proves that the text of the Plan not only affects the coast (water), but rather to establish protectionist measures in all projects carried out in "the land" until a thousand meters inside the coastline, as is required by the Environment in the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Eagles of July 25, 2014.

Also criticize the Environment in its claim, it considers in the Management Plan, that close to the town of Aguilas coast, intensive crops are a "threat, a pressure and a negative impact" for the maintenance of Posidonia, by the "supply of fertilizers, pesticides and diffuse pollution" which supposedly generate these intensive crops.

As also they criticize Environment established in the Management Plan Mar Menor, which "... shall be mandatory use of biodegradable plastic" in the areas of crops without compensation cost this would entail.

The three organizations have also informed the Mayor of Eagles, that will support the efforts and requests the City of Eagle, so that the DIA is substantially modified and that the rules of natural areas will not prevail over the urban or the land use throughout the municipality.

Finally we have also informed the Mayor that the allegations requires that participation in the management bodies of natural areas, is in proportion to the importance and representation of private property in space, being the Mar Menor and 75% private coastline.

In addition to ask the Minister for the Environment to provide a range of information on natural areas, which in recent weeks would have demanded from Brussels to hand over FAPEN, after having claimed the Federation to the European Commissioner for the Environment.

The Mayor has accompanied the representatives of FAPEN, APECO and Eagles Farmers Association, the Register of the City to begin the process of submitting more than two thousand claims that they plan to present.
