Eight waving blue flags this summer on the beaches and the marina of Eagles (01/07/2010)

The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, and the mayor of Eagle, Juan Ramirez, today hoisted the blue flag that has received this year the marina Juan Montiel.

In total, the town has earned eight aquiline blue flags, one more than last year, which will fly this summer on the beaches of Calabardina, Las Delicias, La Colonia, Levante, Poniente, Calarreona, the Yacht Club and marina.

The owner of Agriculture and Water said the "high level of quality and excellence" of the beaches and ports of Eagles, which put this city "a leader in the production of this international environmental seal, and said," reflects the degree of compliance with the municipality in the quality criteria that are required to do so. "

The blue flag is a distinctive recognized by bathers and beach users and ports in 45 countries.

Environmental Education Foundation (ADEAC), through the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education, granted this award for 24 years.

To achieve this recognition, coastal municipalities must send their requests each season to the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, which is responsible for matters before the agency providing the benefits.

In his award takes into account various aspects like the quality of bathing water, provision of cleaning services, rescue and first aid, access for disabled people and offers environmental education.

The Region of Murcia has this year with blue flags on 15 beaches and two marinas in the municipalities of Cartagena, Mazarrón and Aguilas, while San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier and Los Alcazares, like last year, not requested.
