PSOE: The mayor of Health regrets that the PP of Aguilas was missing her word about the physiotherapy service in Aguilas whose waiting list amounts to 660 patients (02/09/2019)

"If you had gone to consult the sources that have competence in Health in the Region of Murcia, you would not have presented this motion because you would know that as of September 1, there will be two physical therapists on staff in Águilas."

These were the words with which the spokeswoman of the PP in Aguilas, Eva Reverte, justified the vote against her party to the motion presented to the Plenary of July by the PSOE Government Team to urge the Health Area III to expand the Eagles unit staff two physiotherapists and a nursing assistant.

A few words that have remained in evidence and have once again demonstrated that, in health matters, Águilas continues to be the great forgotten one of the Regional Government with the approval of the local PP.

"The date on which since the PP of Águilas we were told that there would be an increase in the workforce has come, but the reality is that there has been no change and the service remains in the same conditions: with a single physiotherapist on a day complete and another one that goes three days a week. In addition, after having asked the professionals of this unit, none is aware that this increase will occur, "said the mayor of Health, Dolores García, this morning.

"In the Plenary session last July, the PP not only lacked the truth before the other councilors, but, what is more serious, it did it before all the aquilineans," he continued.

On this matter, the mayor of Health was blunt to ensure that "from the Government Team of the City of Águilas we will continue to urge, Plenary after Plenary, the Regional Government the improvements that Eagles needs in health matters among which are the extension of the physiotherapy service with two professionals, as well as a nursing assistant to support the work of these specialists, something that we have already requested in the Plenary past and to which we have not had any response. "

In this sense, García was clear in ensuring that "just look at the figures to know the deficit of this service, it should be noted that currently the waiting list for the physiotherapy consultation is composed of 660 patients of which only 116 will be treated in the month of September, which implies the dilation in the time of the beginning of the prescribed treatment, causing problems secondary to the pathology for which it is prescribed ".

Along the same lines, the head of Health in the City of Águilas clarified that patients who are currently referred to physiotherapy are being cited by the end of January and beginning of February, while preferential cases are made to wait, as minimum, one month, according to data obtained this morning.
