The mayor of Cemeteries, Isabel Fernández, has informed that from the department of which she is the owner, different maintenance actions are being carried out in the municipal cemetery.

The councilor has indicated that "to the usual works of cleaning and clearing of the plots has been added in recent weeks different sanitation actions based on minor works and both interior and exterior painting; all this following the objective we have from the Department that is to keep the cemetery in perfect condition throughout the year. "

In this sense, Fernández recalled that in the last four years there has been a lot of work done in the municipal cemetery where, among other actions, a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Project has been launched consisting of the arrangement and cleaning of the roofs ;

the rehabilitation of some 600 niches that were in very bad condition;

an action on the access road to the cemetery and also on the interior and exterior walls, completing with an integral rehabilitation of the exterior facade;

the improvement of the drainage system in order to repel moisture in the area of ​​the ossuary;

and the replacement of all items that were broken both in the autopsy room and in the janitor's office.

Likewise, a large number of niches have been built;

an image of the Patron of Eagles has been placed;

sprinklers, crowns and aluminum moving stairs have been acquired that allow access to the highest areas safely;

and a surveillance system has been installed through cameras.
