The event was presented by Pedro Javier López, an aquiline historian of 24 years, who announced who are the components of the electoral list of IU-Greens.

He stressed that it is "the candidate with the largest presence of women (14 in total) of the democratic history of the municipality" and called on May 26 to vote against "those who want to pay their crisis at the expense of our rights and freedoms" ", in reference to the rightist formations.

The four speakers outlined some of the main proposals that Izquierda Unida-Verdes has in its electoral program.

Philippa, better known as 'Pipa', explained the content of the Animal Welfare Plan, stating that "IU is the only candidate that collects the animal proposals in Águilas".

Noelia focused her intervention on the fight against racism in the municipality and the need to build a Democratic Memory "that dignifies our past and eliminates from our streets all exaltation to the Franco dictatorship."

For his part, Óscar Pérez talked about social policies, highlighting the proposals to "significantly increase the budget for social spending," "continue and expand school canteens and the free textbook service" or "create social centers in the suburbs of the municipality. "

Later, it was the turn of the mayoral candidate.

Isabel María Torrente began her speech by taking stock of her experience as Councilor for Equality, Environment and Consumption in the current legislature.

"We have shown that we not only know how to make opposition, but we are also good managers when it comes to governing," he said.

He explained some of the main proposals on Environment and Equality that he includes in his electoral program, ending his speech with a call for progressive voting on May 26.

He concluded by saying that "if we want an ecologist, feminist and solidary municipality, we must carry out a great popular mobilization, we can not allow a single vote of the left to be lost".

Finally, Dori Peñas took the floor, candidate number two to the Regional Assembly for Changing the Region of Murcia, a coalition composed of IU-Greens and Anticapitalists.

He stressed the need to "get a large representation of deputies and left-wing deputies in the regional parliament to start the transformation that the region needs after more than 20 years of disastrous management of the Popular Party."

To finish the act, the attendees shared an aperitif, where in a more relaxed atmosphere they could talk with the candidates about the different proposals that, under the slogan "The left has to talk", Izquierda Unida-Verdes proposes this campaign for the town of Águilas.
