The Civil Guard detains a habitual criminal dedicated to commit crimes against the patrimony (08/03/2019)

So far, six crimes have been clarified

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'Blackmarket', an investigation aimed at clarifying a series of robberies committed in Puerto Lumbreras that has been settled with the identification, location, detention and subsequent judicial disposal of the alleged perpetrator of the criminal facts investigated.

After the operation, which is framed in the 'Plan against theft in homes', the civil guards have clarified so far five crimes of theft in homes in Puerto Lumbreras and a vehicle theft in Águilas.

La Benemérita began the operation at the end of last year, with the purpose of investigating several robbery crimes committed in homes in Puerto Lumbreras, facts that had caused social alarm among the population.

The first investigations were carried out in the houses that had suffered the robberies, where exhaustive technical-ocular inspections were carried out, as well as other procedures, with the aim of discovering the illicit way of acting and the people who might be behind its authorship.

These actions allowed the investigators to verify that to commit the robberies the force was used against the doors or windows of the houses, through which access and cash was taken, pieces of jewelry and any object or small household appliance that could be transported easily and could market in the illicit market quickly.

The Civil Guards have also verified that, before committing the robberies, a previous study was made of the routines of the residents of the houses to materialize the theft, making sure that they were not inside.

Parallel to the investigation, the Civil Guard has developed a series of monitoring and surveillance devices, which were intended to prevent the commission of more crimes of this type and, where appropriate, frustrate them with the arrest of their perpetrators.

The indications obtained during the investigation oriented the civil guards to a man, a neighbor of the Almeria town of Pulpí, who allegedly was behind the authorship of the crimes investigated.

After obtaining all the necessary evidence, a search device was established on the suspect that, during the last days, has culminated with its location, detention and subsequent judicial recourse.

The analysis of the information obtained during the investigation has allowed to attribute to the arrested the presumed authorship of at least five crimes of robbery with force in houses of Puerto Lumbreras and a crime of vehicle theft committed in Águilas.

The operation is still open to determine if the now arrested is behind the authorship of more criminal acts and if there could be more people related to the facts.

The Moroccan detainee, 33 years old, residing in Pulpí (Almería) and with a police record and the diligences instructed have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Lorca (Murcia).
