Fish with Art II returns to the coast of guilas in 2019 with different activities to bring its inhabitants closer to artisanal fishing, the fish species of our coasts, the ecological values of the marine protected areas and the historical heritage linked to the fishing, among others.
Columbares Association, in collaboration with the City of guilas, starts the activities in the month of April with the educational itinerary Marine Biodiversity and Artisanal Fishing, which will show schoolchildren of the municipality the history of fishing in the town and some of the species that they inhabit their seabed, as well as teach them to be responsible fish consumers.
All this, through a tour of the fish market, fresh fishmongers and the Interpretation Center of the sea, which will include interpretive, dynamic workshops and a storyteller.
The itinerary will take place on April 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
It is a free activity aimed at pupils of 5th and 6th grade of schools in the municipality of guilas.
To participate, it is essential that the interested educational centers make prior registration through the form that is provided on the website of the entity.
Pescados con Arte II is an initiative of the Asociacin Columbares and the Association of Artisanal Fishermen of the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park (PESCARTES) to inform the public of the social, environmental, cultural and gastronomic value of the fishery captured from artisanal form in the Murcian-Almerian coast and promote the consumption of sustainable fishing products.
The project has the support of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition, through the Pleamar Program, co-financed by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, in collaboration with the University of Murcia, the Amurecoy Fornet Association.
Pescados con Arte II contributes to achieving the objectives of the LIFE IP INTEMARES project "Integrated, innovative and participatory management of the Natura 2000 Network in the Spanish marine environment".
