Isabel Soler: "Our Carnival is one of the most crowded parties, and we want to take this opportunity to raise awareness and prevent aggression and sexist behavior."
The Spokesman of the Popular Municipal Group, Isabel Soler, recalls that there are numerous cases of sexist aggressions produced on the occasion of popular festivals, major events, concerts, etc., in which the aggressors take advantage of the large influx of public to act against freedom and the sexual integrity of women and in some cases even of underage girls.
Therefore, Soler recalls that there have already been many municipalities such as those of Lorca and Murcia who have opted for the installation of the so-called "Violet Points", during the most important and most crowded parties.
It involves the placement of spaces for information, awareness and prevention of sexist attitudes and behavior against women, as well as spaces for security and accompaniment for victims of sexist or sexual violence.
The popular spokesperson has concluded by emphasizing that with this initiative from the Municipal People Group we bet to visualize our commitment in the fight against sexist violence and above all to prevent violent or degrading behavior towards women in the next Carnival, where thousands of people visit us.
