The regional government allocates more than 23 million to the agrifood industry in 2019 (14/12/2018)

The Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has allocated next year 23.733.504 euros to the agri-food industry for the improvement of the sector and production processes, as well as for the promotion and promotion of the competitiveness of companies dedicated to agri-food processing and marketing.

The counselor Miguel Ángel Del Amor attended the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the fruit and vegetable company of Looije, in Águilas, which has expanded its plant dedicated to the production of tomato in greenhouse with high-yield soilless cultivation.

"The Region of Murcia currently has about one hundred recognized producer organizations (POs) and this entity has eight of them, and is a reference in the sector of our Region and at European level," said Del Amor.

This company has 45.77 hectares of fresh tomatoes and sells a total of 7.3 million euros.

Since its recognition as OP in 2010, they have been part of two operational programs, the first in the period 2011-2015 and the second for the period 2016-2020.

For both periods, the total investment to be made by the company is 3,589,592 euros and have a subsidy from the Ministry of 50 percent.

More than 90 OPs in the Region benefit from the aid system through operational programs, which receive more than 73 million euros in aid in 2018 and 80 million in 2019.

These companies make investments worth 130 million euros, benefiting from a Community aid of 50 percent of the actions carried out with this operating fund.
