Águilas will improve its image with a modern roundabout access to the municipality (28/11/2018)

The mayor, the mayor of services and a technician of the company STV, presented this morning at a press conference the improvement work being carried out by the concessionaire of parks and gardens in the roundabout entrance to Aguilas, more commonly called "the shield roundabout".

It is a very busy area, as it is the roundabout access to the municipality, so a study of landscaping has been conducted in depth to get a new revolutionary concept, and especially with low water consumption.

"This is one of the improvements that were signed in the maintenance contract with this company," Fernandez says, "we always bet on improving our green areas."

Thousands of people spend each day in this space, so it becomes a focus of constant attention and image.

"Therefore, what we wanted to do from the City is that from the moment you enter our municipality you can have a modern image, attractive and above all striking, allowing to give an idea of what can be contemplated in this municipality that continues to improve day by day its green areas and outdoor spaces "-explains the mayor, Mara del Carmen Moreno-" This roundabout will also have grass meadows and, of course, with giant letters (six meters) in which you can read 'guilas te quiere +', thus showing the hospitality of this municipality to its own as well as tourists ".

This roundabout will become a green lung in which they will continue to be traditional palm trees but yes, with a totally different environment.

Among the striking elements are the creation and placement of new 'bubbles' in which shrub plants of the area will be placed, which will reduce the much needed water savings.

The aquiline and tourists who spend every day will notice the great positive visual impact that is going to be achieved, adding a modern and efficient irrigation system that will save every last drop of water.

Also, it is planned to place a masonry wall that will also have its special meaning once this work created by and for the aquilines is finished.

Finally, note that the trees that were planted in this roundabout will be replanted in other green areas of the municipality.
