The Local Agrarian Council advances in the search for alternatives to put an end to the burning of agricultural remains (09/07/2018)

The Local Agrarian Council, a sectorial body of consultative nature, as well as advising and informing the municipal policy on agriculture, has recently met again.

A final meeting that "has served, as pointed out by the mayor of Águilas and mayor of Agriculture, Mari Carmen Moreno, to know important advances in the project of revaluation of agricultural waste, something in which we have been working for almost a year and whose implementation march could mean the end of the burning of these remains. "

The first aquiline mayor has advanced that from the City Council, with the collaboration of the Autonomous Community and CSIC, are looking for alternatives to end this problem and one of them would go through the installation in Águilas of a biomass plant "that would not only allow to finish with the burnings, but also it would serve to produce by-products that would return to the ground again ".

On this last issue the first mayor of Aquiline has qualified that the City is currently developing talks with a company that has shown interest in installing this plant in the town.

It should be remembered that the Council, which will meet on an ordinary basis at least once a semester and on an extraordinary basis whenever it is requested, is made up of representatives of all the political parties represented in the City Council, as well as all the agricultural companies of the locality and the Communities of Irrigators.
