The Infanta Doña Elena Auditorium welcomed the presentation of the Beach Coverage Plan COPLA 2018 in Ãguilas this morning (30/06/2018)

An act to which they have come together with the Mayor of the city, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the President of the Red Cross in Águilas, Miguel Molina Sánchez, the Councilor of the Presidency of the Community, Pedro Rivera, members of the political parties with municipal representation , the Chief of the Accidental Post of the Civil Guard, Antonio Almagro, Sergio Rodríguez Carbonell, Head of the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Cartagena and with them, the rest of the bodies participating in the operation as Local Police, accompanied by their Officer, José Antonio García, Consortium for the Extinction of Fire and Salvage and Civil Protection.

In statements to the media present at the event, both the Mayor of the city and the President of the Red Cross in Águilas and the Minister of the Presidency, have agreed to congratulate all the troops that participate in the operation in the municipality and have made a call to the prudence of the aquilines and visitors to respect the color of the flags and the indications of the rescuers, since to miss a prohibition like the Red Flag also endangers the integrity of the rescuers.

In addition, they have highlighted the fact that Águilas has been 23 years without having to regret any death due to Immersion Syndrome on guarded beaches, trusting that with the collaboration of all of them it can be maintained for another year.

The Spanish Red Cross in Águilas is the organization that contributes the largest number of members to the Copla Plan of the City Council, since between professionals and volunteers there are about 120 personnel who, from today until September 9, will provide health coverage and rescue in the 14 beaches of the city that have permanent surveillance, to which is added the Dynamic Surveillance in the rest of the city's coastline.

In addition to the Aquatic Lifeguards and Sanitaries, the Municipal Government Team and the Red Cross Management have agreed to keep a special staff consisting of a doctor, a nurse and two Health Emergency Technicians at all weekends and holidays in July and August. Rapid intervention vehicle to assist the emergencies and emergencies that arise in the public road and on the beaches, thus providing fast and effective health care while also minimizing the response times that could occur in anticipation of the number of visitors who have the municipality in the summer season.
