The Community activates the COPLA Plan device in 19 posts on the beaches of Ãguilas (30/06/2018)

The counselor of Presidency, Pedro Rivera, and the mayor of Águilas, María del Carmen Moreno, today presented the troops deployed on the beaches of Águilas within the COPLA Plan, with 19 posts, a surveillance chair, 37 lifeguards, four boats , four kayaks and three bath chairs for people with disabilities.

In addition, the rescue vessel 'Titania' is available, anchored in the fishing port, served by a skipper and two lifeguards;

and an off-road vehicle and two lifeguards for intervention on unsupervised beaches.

This weekend begins the period of high danger on the beaches of the coast of the Region of Murcia, which involves the activation of a first aid, surveillance and rescue device in line with the influx of visitors, which launches the Autonomous Community in collaboration with coastal town councils and organizations such as the Red Cross and Maritime Rescue.

The interventions carried out last year under the Copla Plan were almost 54,000, of which just over 17,000 were cures and first aid, and more than 700 corresponded to rescue and rescue.

In Águilas, almost 2,000 interventions were carried out, of which 1,500 were cures and first aid and half a hundred rescue and rescue operations were carried out.
