The mayor of Águilas, María del Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Festejos, Encarna Navarro, presented at a press conference the Book of Summer 2018, a publication that this year presents several novelties and that retains its charitable nature.

On this occasion the donation of 1 euro for each copy will go to the Hogar Betania Association.

Regarding the main novelties, it should be noted that this year the Book does not carry advertisements, but only the information of the different events organized by the Councils of Celebration, Culture, Sports and Tourism for the summer months.

Another novelty is that it is structured in two major thematic blocks.

The first one consists of the articles of the collaborators who altruistically send their writings and photographs.

And the second, which is included under the title Our Holidays, which offers a view of the different celebrations that take place throughout the year, highlighting the Carnival, Holy Week, the Rociera Pilgrimage and parties in the different districts, with special emphasis on the Summer, which in itself is a Celebration for the amount of activities that are organized.

And this is where the Book brings another novelty, since it includes an agenda in which the planned events are included every day, with all the necessary information for the interested parties: date, place, time, price, points of sale, etc.

Regarding the photographs that illustrate it, the mayor of the town highlighted the cover, this year's work by Gabriel Muñiz, which shows a beautiful landscape of the town that is being photographed, in turn, by another aquiline artist Mario Navarro

Something that, point out from Diseño.arq, company that this year has been responsible for the layout and design, "aims to be a nod of thanks to the selfless collaboration of these two photographers who have been responsible for illustrating most of the publication".

The presentation of the Book of Summer served to re-inform about the different events organized by the Concejalía de Festejos, which will be held for the most part in the Plaza de Antonio Cortijos, highlighting the fact that many of them are free and most of them those who charge entrance will make a solidarity contribution to associations and local entities.
