The mayor reiterates to the government delegate the need for a permanent office for the issuance of the DNI and passport in Ãguilas (09/05/2018)

The mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, this morning held a meeting with the Government delegate in Murcia, Francisco Bernabé, who has reiterated the need to give a solution to the chaotic situation that the aquilines continue to suffer every time they have to carry out a procedure as simple as it should be the renewal of the DNI.

On this matter, Moreno reminded Bernabé that at the beginning of 2016 the request for the creation in Águilas of a permanent office for the issuance of the DNI, passport and immigration office was transferred to the Ministry but, unfortunately, the situation has not improved and the aquilines have to continue to endure waiting lists that, in the best of cases, reach three months.

"A municipality like ours, with 35,000 inhabitants, has sufficient entity not to depend on neighboring localities for such simple procedures and at the same time necessary such as the renewal of a DNI or a passport," said the mayor.

The meeting has also served to request the head of the Government Delegation an increase in the number of troops in the post of the Guardia Civil de Aguilas.

"We are very close to summer, a period in which the population of our municipality triples and, therefore, it becomes necessary to increase security."

In another vein, the meeting also allowed the signing of the Assistance Protocol on automated information between the Directorate General of the Civil Guard and the City of Águilas.

An agreement by which the Civil Guard through its computer system will facilitate the Local Police Department of Águilas automatic and direct consultation of their files.
