AVA report the abandonment of the chapel of John Casuco and its environment (30/05/2010)

The Neighborhood Association-AVA Aquilegia Eagles Citizen Forum to citizens wishing to denounce the absolute abandonment and neglect suffered by one of the most important monuments and tourist cultural level by the municipality, as is the chapel of John Casuco and its environment.

The place has been suffering a steady deterioration of its mass of trees and garden, lighting is broken, and hazardous waste such as bottles and cans are scattered everywhere and the reach of children, without the City Council proceed with timely repairs and cleaning .

La Ermita, donated to the town for its famous neighbor Juan Casuco, can be considered notable tourist attraction and even religious.

Not surprisingly, dozens of visitors from across the Spanish and European geography throughout the year come to visit for its unique and colorful performance, or pray and hear Mass during the summer.

In the interest and influx to the area must be added the large audience of families who bring their young to play on weekends.

I found, sadly, is a park in total abandonment, without the slightest clearing and planting of waste.

Around the chapel there are a dozen non-functional streetlights, some folded into its retaining shaft and all stoned, a bag dispenser for dog faeces is always empty, and some bins full of waste accumulated over weeks.

To all this should be added the absence of any road signs indicating the direction of the chapel, to dismay of those who want to visit.

The abandonment, which was denounced by several residents last year, led the municipal authorities to ensure that it would be resolved after the enlargement of the cleaning staff, but that has not happened.

Given this recurring dereliction of duties by the City of Eagle, AVA would like to remind the authorities that aquiline and visitors deserve the immediate repair of the damage and the care of these gardens, as citizens to do their taxes paid and is now more that unfortunate, obviously, the image offered by the municipal tourist visitors to the shrine of John Casuco and its environment.
